421 is an independent, anti-disciplinary platform dedicated to emerging artists and creative practitioners in the UAE and across the region. A site for research, learning and experimentation, 421 provides a nurturing environment for emergent creative practices and those who want to harness the arts as an agent for social inquiry and transformation.
Located in Abu Dhabi’s Mina Zayed, 421 presents a year-round program of exhibitions, talks, workshops, special events and educational initiatives that offer accessible learning opportunities to the wider community and the general public. Artists are invited to apply for the 2024 cycle of the Artistic Development program, a capacity building initiative that emphasizes the professional and creative development of participating creative practitioners.
Conceived as a commissioning exhibition, participating artists are supported by experienced art educators, interlocutors, and/or curators towards producing a new body of work to be presented in a solo exhibition in 2024.
Open to UAE-based early-mid career artists , this program accepts project proposals that will grow to occupy the space in Gallery 1 at 421.
Each practitioner will be given the opportunity to select an interlocutor of their choice to support them through the process of developing their project, in addition to project-specific scheduled group-crits and discussion circles.
The program supports three projects per cycle. The exhibitions will take place throughout 2024.

The 421 Internship and Mentorship Program offers early career development support and professional preparation opportunities for emerging-creative professionals from diverse backgrounds. The program supports the professional development of young practitioners through hands-on experience and training that paves the way for future career opportunities.
The program takes place on-site, and offers selected participants the opportunity to be immersed in a cultural center's operations across various departments with a targeted focus on a specific field.
The internship runs for six months, from January to June 2023 and from July to December 2023. Five applicants will be accepted every six months. This is a paid opportunity.
Eligibility
Applicants must be over 21 years old Applicants must be based in the UAE. Applicants should be current graduates from a bachelor's degree course; or graduate students who have completed at least one academic year; or recent graduates (within 12 months of graduation) or art professionals with equivalent work experience.

Administration and Project Management
This internship is for emerging-creative professionals interested in working on the administrative side of cultural institutions. The internship offers participants the opportunity to work across various departments of 421 and learn about the administrative needs of the institution. The selected interns will be working directly with the Director of 421 and other members of the management team.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrable interest in the fields of Fine Arts, Architecture, Design, Art History or Museum Studies
- Demonstrable interest and passion for leadership in the arts and galleries
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint), G-Suite, and remote programs such as Zoom is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be organized, flexible, detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on various projects simultaneously

Communications and Marketing
The internship will offer you the opportunity to be immersed in the development of the story of 421 by using different channels and platforms through creating a holistic end to end communication plan for 421 programs and exhibitions. This includes strategy and planning, managing and reviewing content, coordinating with stakeholders and partners, assisting in the implementation and execution of communication strategies. The internship will cover various marketing and communication channels, from traditional media, PR, marketing, social media and other digital platforms. The intern will be working directly with the 421 Communications Manager and other members of the management team.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrable interest in public relations and communications, as well as in the fields of Fine Arts, Architecture, Design, Art History or Museum Studies (graphic design is a plus)
- A deep understanding of the arts, culture and design ecosystem of the UAE, and the region

The intern will assist in different areas of the exhibitions, workshops, publications at 421 focused on catering it to families and developing creative skills and knowledge within a wider community. The interns will be working directly with the Education Manager of 421 and other members of the management team.

421 invites UAE and regionally-based designers, artists and creatives to submit their products to the Regionally Logical 2023 Open Call for a chance to be part of Dukkan421, our shop that is home to a wide range of design-led products and items. We encourage creatives and designers of all disciplines and backgrounds to apply, including those working with printed matter, publishing, jewelry making, textiles, ceramics, fashion, furniture and homeware design, photography and image-making, and children’s products.
Regionally Logical is part of our mission to cultivate and celebrate the region’s contemporary designers and creatives. We aim to nurture an appreciation for design by giving creatives the opportunity to showcase their innovation, artistry and craftsmanship through Dukkan421’s far reaching platform.

Visitor Services Coordinator
The Visitor Services Coordinator role in Warehouse421 combines customer service, which is the main focus of the job and handling front house operation and administrative duties related to the space. The VSC is responsible for delivering excellence in customer service in a broad range of front-of-house operations including booking and ticketing , visitor and customer service for public programs as well as supporting the operational delivery of public and private events.
Specification
- Knowledge & Qualifications : a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communication, Arts related major, education, or tourism and hospitality. A good level of standard of written English and numeracy.
- Skills & Experiences : Basic Information Communication Technology skill this includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, programmes such as Calendly, Fetcher, Google Drive etc. Present strong communication skills in Arabic and English. Presents work experience of a minimum of 2 years in Visitor Service Coordinator, Customer Service-related position. Experiences should include a role that involves dealing directly with the public,this could be paid and/or voluntary and is not limited too, but could include settings such as a museum, school, and cultural sites and preferably in the Arts, Culture or Tourism sector.
- Personal attributes : Friendly and motivated with a positive attitude,proactive and open to learning and gaining knowledge in relevant areas, adaptable to sudden situation changes and willing to work on different tasks as and when required. Self-motivated, creative individual competent in prioritizing and working without supervision. Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides all the necessary information to the public (visitors to the space and those who inquire about it over phone or email) under the management of Warehouse421 core team members, including but not limited to: Exhibitions, Public Programs, Retails shop - Dukkan421, and Educational Programs of Warehouse421
- Provides assistance to all visitors professionally to ensure their visitor experience journey is met to the highest standards, by providing relevant information regarding the site's amenities, exhibition hours, and gallery protocols
- Delivery of tours related to Warehouse421 Exhibitions post attending Exhibition Trainings
- Oversees workshop logistics both onsite and online with the support of Warehouse421 Program Coordinator As well as ensure bookings and shipments related to public programs are confirmed and delivered prior to the program
- Manage visitor bookings through application and ensure documentation of attendance per month; this includes exhibition visits, and program attendance
- Manage all communication via telephone and emails, while ensuring professional and efficient communication following Warehouse421 guidelines and logging requests
- Perform clerical and administrative support such as office work this includes document encoding, scanning, photocopying, archiving, etc.
- Record and prepare necessary reports including sales report, inventory report, visitor summary, etc.
- Attend Professional Development Training by Warehouse421 on Exhibition Program, Public Program and how to deal with visitors

يشمل دور منسق خدمات الزوار في معرض421 خدمة العملاء التي تمثل المحور الرئيسي للوظيفة وتولي العمليات والمهام الإدارية في المكان. ويتولى منسق خدمات الزوار مسؤولية تقديم مجموعة خدمات متميزة للعملاء بما في ذلك حجز وإصدار التذاكر وخدمة الزوار والعملاء في البرامج العامة بالإضافة إلى دعم الأداء التنفيذي للفعليات العامة والخاصة.
المواصفات
- المعرفة والمؤهل الأكاديمي: الحصول على درجة البكالوريوس في الاتصال أو الفنون ذات الصلة أو التعليم أو السياحة والضيافة على الأقل. إجادة اللغة الإنجليزية كتابةً والقدرة على الحساب.
- المهارات والخبرات: المهارات الأساسية لاستخدام تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات التي تشمل برامج مايكروسوفت وورد، وإكسل، وأوت لوك، وبرامج مثل Calendly، وفتشر، وجوجل درايف وغيرها. إجادة مهارات التواصل باللغة العربية والإنجليزية، وخبرة عملية لا تقل عن سنتين في مجال منسق خدمة الزوار أو مجال ذو صلة بخدمة العملاء، وخبرة في التعامل مباشرة مع الجمهور، سواءً بعمل مدفوع الأجر أو عمل تطوعي في أماكن مثل المتاحف والمدارس والمواقع الثقافية ويُفضل في قطاع الفنون أو الثقافة أو السياحة.
- الصفات الشخصية: ودود وإيجابي ومنفتح ومُقبل على التعلم واكتساب المعرفة في المجالات ذات الصلة وقابل للتكيف مع التغيرات ومستعد للعمل في مهام مختلفة عند الحاجة. صاحب تحفيز ذاتي ومبدع مختص في تحديد الأولويات والعمل دون إشراف، ومهتم كذلك بالتعرف على معارض وبرامج معرض421 ومشاركة معرفته مع الزوار والاهتمام بمجال الفنون والتصميم.

We’re looking for a talented Social Media Coordinator to support our Communications team with creating and maintaining a strong online presence and overseeing the strategy, performance, and delivery of all digital content across social media channels.
Responsibilities:
- Managing Warehouse421's digital presence and social media channels according to the communications plan and strategy;
- Assisting the implementation and preparation of social media campaigns according to the communications strategy and the Warehouse421 mission;
- Monitoring the performance of social media campaigns and audience interaction on various platforms;
- Managing Warehouse421's online community across all social media platforms, answering questions and inquires sent via inbox and direct message, and comments;
- Coordinating and liaising with the designer and the digital marketing team to ensure proper implementation of digital and social media campaigns.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools;
- Proficiency with video and photo editing tools and digital media formats;
- Familiar with social media content scheduling applications and other editing tools such as Later, Canva, etc;
- Excellent social listening skills;
- Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space;
- Strong copywriting and copy editing skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask;
- Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, visual communication, design, arts or a related field;
- Experience working in a cultural institution, arts organization or creative space;
- 1-3 years experience with B2C social media marketing or content development;
- Fluency in English and Arabic;
- Direct experience using social media management tools (Later, Canva, etc.);
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools.

• المساعدة في تطبيق وإعداد جميع حملات التواصل الاجتماعي حسب استراتيجية التواصل ورسالة المؤسسة
• المساعدة في إدارة منصات التواصل الاجتماعي المختلفة للمؤسسة
• المساعدة في إعداد وتطوير محتوى قنوات التواصل الاجتماعي لمختلف المبادرات والمشاريع والفعاليات التي ينفذها معرض421
• إعداد وتحضير التقارير التي تراقب أداء حملات التواصل الاجتماعي وتفاعل الجمهور على مختلف المنصات
• إدارة التواصل اليومي وعلاقات العمل مع الجهة الرقمية الخاصة بالمؤسسة
• التنسيق والتواصل مع فريق التصميم لضمان التنفيذ السليم للحملات الرقمية وحملات التواصل الاجتماعي
المعرفة والمهارات المطلوبة:
• فهم واسع للفن المعاصر وأعمال المتاحف
• مستوى عالٍ من التركيز والانتباه إلى التفاصيل
• القدرة على الوفاء بمواعيد التسليم والعمل تحت الضغط
• طريقة منهجية ومنظمة في العمل
الخبرة:
ما لا يقل عن 1-3 سنوات في إدارة جميع جوانب الحملات الرقمية وحملات التواصل الاجتماعي.
المؤهلات:
شهادة ذات صلة في التواصل الاجتماعي والتسويق الرقمي أو ما يعادلها
الطلاقة باللغة الإنجليزية و اللغة العربية.
